Were in this together
Here recently I found out that a young girl at my church had her mother pass away. The girl is only 14 years old and I can’t even begin to imagine the pain she must be feeling. She serves with me some times on the worship team and the other day I was watching her as she interacted with people. She was smiling, laughing, and going on about the day as she would normally. As I was looking at her I was thinking about the battle she must be going through every day. When something that tragic happens in your life, it has to be so hard to wake up and just be social. Yet she was trying to just be polite and smile.
Everyone you meet is going through a battle. Some may be bigger than others but they are never easy. You yourself are probably going through a battle right now. Maybe it’s an addiction, apathy, lust, anger, etc. Either way, we are all struggling. So be kind to the people you meet. Remember that they are human like you with weaknesses, emotions, and struggles. We are all we have in this broken world so the least we could do is show love to each other. You may not know what that person is going through, but just being kind could turn their whole day around. Love is always the appropriate response.
